The Advantage of Plastics
Plastics, especially polypropylene, are inert and convenient for a wide range of applications in a bio-pharmaceutical laboratory. As a material for nanospray sources, surface interactions between the biological or chemical analytes may be less severe than those of glass or silica because of the lack of broken bonds on the surface. In addition, plastic manufacturing offer great versatility to designs and is generally far more affordable than conventional micromachining methods.
